This Shawarma seasoning is a blend of Middle Eastern promise, where the spices of India, North Africa, and Europe collide to create a true flavor explosion.
The story of this seasoning began during our two-year stay in the Middle East, where we worked drilling for oil. In our free time, we explored the back streets and local markets, uncovering a true local delicacy: Shawarma! We fell in love with this wrap snack, a perfect end to a long night.
This spice is delicious with both lamb and vegetables. For a truly memorable meal, use it to season a lamb shoulder and slow cook it until it's tender enough to pull apart. Serve the lamb in a flatbread with fresh yogurt, tabbouleh, and pomegranate. You can also use it to rub on lamb chops or kebabs before grilling, filling the air with its heady, intoxicating fragrance.
